The Harmoni (patent pending) terminal includes a vivid, high-intensity indicator light that communicates real-time overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) conditions to operators and managers from afar, helping to promote productivity efficiency and lean manufacturing initiatives.
This is not your typical andon light! While any basic andon light on your plant floor can show whether your machine’s spindle is running, this indicator gives you a lot more intelligence than that. Harmoni is measuring manufacturing productivity and tells you whether your machine is running efficiently, not just running—all based on real-time data.
When the machine is running within the expected performance metrics (i.e., the machine is producing parts at a rate that is consistent with the expected manufacturing process & production rate), the indicator light will show green.
As performance in your manufacturing operations slips, this indicator will change from green to yellow. This could be caused by the machine being stopped or the machine not producing parts within an acceptable band of expectations, among many other factors. This allows you to catch and address problems in real-time, as they are happening, and before they become yesterday’s bad performance numbers.
Poor manufacturing productivity performance will be presented with a red indicator. A machine could be running consistently, but the Harmoni terminal is presenting a red indicator. Why? The answer can be found on your factory floor with just a few taps on the Harmoni terminal. Perhaps the machine is running at low speed, or perhaps it was turned off all morning and just recently turned on prior to the management floor walk. All of this information and key performance indicators will be displayed on the terminal, allowing you to make informed decisions about each manufacturing process, and the root cause of the problem can be addressed.
